Moody’s has upgraded the long-term credit rating of Renault SA to the investment grade level of Baa3 with a stable outlook. This move follows a previous rating of Ba1 which carried a positive outlook.

The upgrade is attributed to the comprehensive transformation of the Renault Group and the increased resilience of its business model. Factors cited in the decision include a value-driven commercial policy, a partnership approach focused on return on capital employed, and a dual electrification strategy involving both electric vehicles and full hybrids.

The company’s financial profile reflects disciplined execution and prudent management. Renault Group has maintained balanced capital allocation, robust cash generation, a solid liquidity profile, and a reinforced balance sheet. These financial elements are expected to support consistent value creation within the difficult automotive sector.

Additionally, Mobilize Financial Services assists in automotive value creation through a captive model that manages financing, leasing, insurance, and customer loyalty. This model is designed to support the ongoing trend toward electrification within the group’s automotive business.

The credit rating upgrade aligns with the strategic priorities of the futuREady plan, which focuses on utilizing strong fundamentals to transition the company into a more robust success system.
