M50 Concession, the company responsible for the operations and maintenance of the M50 Motorway in Dublin, has launched a new educational video series to promote road safety and safe driving practices in Ireland. The goal of the safety video campaign is to raise awareness of drivers and their behaviours, and to highlight the significant impact that an individual’s actions can have on Ireland’s busiest highway.

Borja Santamaria Mariscal, General Manager of M50 Concession, felt that the safety campaign would resonate with certain drivers and wanted to further support them with the launch of the new series. Speaking to reporters this week about the new series, Mariscal said, “Here at M50 Concession, road safety is one of our main priorities. We have created this video campaign with that as the main goal. When it comes to similar types of campaigns in the past, we found they tend to treat the matter very seriously and some viewers would lose focus with the important message. With our latest videos we aim to give the public something a bit more light-hearted with the same important road safety message. Each of the videos feature a different tip that viewers can take on board. Hopefully we can make the M50 Motorway a better and safer place to drive.”

Viewers can see characters Steady Eddie, Savvy Sally and Wally the Weaver as they learn different tips from M50 Concession’s new educational video series on how drivers can adopt safe driving habits on the M50 Motorway.

M50 Concession is also operating a 24/7 real time Traffic Alerts system via their offical Twitter @M50Dublin account. This provides the quickest and most reliable information on traffic conditions on the M50 and adjoining motorways as it comes directly from their incident response and vehicle recovery crews working onsite.

The M50 Motorway is a 40km, c-shaped ring road around Dublin that connects all the National primary routes to the capital and carries more than 150,000 vehicles per day.

With more drivers on the road, the company is taking a leading role in helping to safeguard drivers and passengers on one of Europe’s busiest roads.
