The UK has launched its first dedicated business centre in Kyiv, providing British companies with a permanent presence to strengthen industrial ties with Ukraine.
The Kyiv Business Centre (KBC) was established through collaboration between the National Armaments Director (NAD) Group, industrial partners, and the finance industry. The initiative is part of the ongoing 100-Year Partnership between the two nations.
The centre aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in establishing trusted relationships with Ukrainian partners. It offers access to battlefield insights and opportunities for co-development, co-production, and investment. Previously, the administrative complexities, security requirements, and high costs associated with operating in Ukraine following the Russian invasion had made it difficult for smaller firms to establish a presence.
Luke Pollard, the Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, stated that the centre is intended to unlock new opportunities for investment, growth, and long-term recovery. He noted that the initiative aims to turn shared resolve into shared innovation by supporting UK companies in Kyiv.
The KBC operates on three core principles of industry, innovation, and investment. The centre provides a networking platform to help members form partnerships, raise investment, and scale up production and capability. National Armaments Director Rupert Pearce described the facility as a permanent gateway designed to transform the ability of UK firms to collaborate meaningfully with Ukrainian partners for the long term.
The establishment of the centre builds upon the success of previous trade missions and more than 40 existing UK-Ukraine industrial partnerships. Additionally, the KBC will help Ukrainian firms in their search for UK industrial partners or those seeking to establish subsidiaries based in the United Kingdom.
